Railways--Key Solutions for problems plaguing them

The following are among the passenger-centric steps which may be essential.Convenience of passengers, particularly the old, the infirm, the unescoorted ladies with infants in their arms should be considered as paramount by the Railways.Amongst the facilities to be provided for the purpose are the following:
(1) Horizontal walkalators where the distance to be covered by walk is more than, say, 50 meters, besides escalators for going both up and down.
(2)Trolleys, preferably automated, on payment basis for carrying baggage.
(3) Wheel chairs, preferably battery-operated and preferably with attached trolleys
(4) A portable Three-step ladder (with railing) for boarding the Train, which can be booked and paid for along with the ticket, can be carried to and from the train by a porter, and can be communicated about over a pre-specified Phone No. of the Railways
(5) Three or four collapsible ladders with railing and four or five steps and wheels to move them, to be available with the conductor travelling in the same compartment, for provision to those eligible as referred to above to climb to the upper or middle berth.
Aside from the above, the Railways may take steps such as the following to enhance its Revenue:
(1) Utilize their huge holdings of unused, idle land to give out on lease for their cultivation, for growing jatropha seeds used in generating power, installing photovoltaic plates to generate electricity.
(2) Capture in bags the human shit and give the same out for generating electricity. more

All are good suggestions. It will be great help to people, whom we respect more as per our culture, ladies , aged and children. more  
It is very good if the railways can provide all these things to passengers. However, at present even Escalators are not available to go up to plate forms what to talk of other things. This is so even at NCR head quarter station Allahabad there is only one escalator which runs when it wants. more  
A no. railway stations are having inclined planes ( as distinct from staircases with steps) e.g. Nagpur, Bilaspur etc., where most individuals can walk with their luggages ( most of them, now-a-days, are built with casters). Railways should adopt the same, wherever feasible, particularly while renewals/ replacements. more  
The basic things should continue, without major changes. Senior Citizens, physically handicapped and Ladies should be given preference. more  
Indeed very good suggestions by Mr Vemoory. One more to add; ENSURE that the internet system doesn't allot 'Upper Berth' to Senior Citizen and ladies above 50. Also add 'Side lower' berth for preference along with Lower berth. Most of the Senior Citizen and ladies can manage 'Middle Berths' in 3 T, but not many of them can climb to Upper berths. more
