On the one hand government is claiming that railways is making huge losses and therefore they had to increase the fares steeply. On the other hand railway budget announces large number of populist schemes which are huge burden on the railway. They announced new trains, not 10,15 or 20. 58!!! This will add more burden on the already crippling railway infrastructure. Add to more accidents, more delays etc. Further more they announced very costly bullet trains! Is it necessary at this juncture? Most of the tracks are aging and need replacement sooner than later. But govt. has totally ignored this and other safety measures.
This govt. is no different from Congi when it comes to poulism. more
