Railways must consult people before designing

Railways is designing a new berth for babies. Some one has to not understand mothers mind to be able to design like the attached. No mom would let her small baby/child sleep in outer side of the birth where there are high chances of child falling.

Please seek inputs before u spend so much of tax payer money. more

This design will prevent mother falling down when giving space for child. In fact railing along entire length would be good. This design is good for all as our trains' coach shakes a lot due to poor track quality and jerk during start and stop. more
The child berth needs protection from all three sides. more
good something new more
1. Appreciate if something good has been thought of. 2. It is not final 3. Probably the video from railway in social media shows harnesses have been provided for the safety of the child 4. But yes, the general tendency of the mother is to keep her child towards the wall (a) preventing fall (b) to save from child lifters (can happen) (c) accidents due to movement of luggage / people 5. Since it is getting folded below the berth, designers need to view that the cushion of the child berth is likely to get damaged by luggage to be pushed below the berth. In fact it would be difficult to move luggage in that place. As it is we Indians are not light travelers. 6. Don't know if both the opposite lower berths would have this. In that case the area beneath it would not be accessible. Let us wait and watch. more
