Railways refuting news in circulation
I appreciate Sri Suresh Prabhu and team for refuting the news in circulation about policy changes on saturday in this circle.
I did not trust the news when i got whatsapp forward as railways had not shared in this circle but strange thing is that even economic times had published it along with zee news and others.
I do however feel that in last 3 years only some things have changed in Railways. We have given so many good inputs bur Railways is so very slow to implement them. All senior offiicials by which I mean burraucrats should be plugged into this circle mandatorily and see what people are saying. Only then change will happen faster.
Hope rail minister will take action on this front and drive faster change. There is only 20 months left for next election. Lets work and make Acche Din happen for Railways.

As long as railway officers are sourced from UPSC and similar selection & training procedures, any good intention at the Ministry level will continue to be defeated because these bureaucrats do not allow reforms to happen so easily. The best way is to bring in professionals/experts in the relevant fields as administrators to make the things happen. It is true not only for the railways but for all government departments. more

I am sorry to write that improvement in Railways in "ZERO". 1. Last I traveled in 1 AC of Goa Express from Nizamuddin to Pune. It was a horrible journey. Coach attendant provided a stitch open pillow with a dirty cover after 1 hours of asking. Then he refused to replace with a clean & tidy pillow on the plea of non-avaialbilty. After another hour of waiting i.e. 2 hours from start of train, I have to call Train Suptd. to get a neat & tidy pillow. It took another 30 to 40 minutes but he produced one. I lodged a written complaint but Railway is yet to acknowledge, what to say of action or IMPROVEMENT. 2. Railway pantry refused to serve dinner so order was collected by a outside vendor. After dinner plates. glasses etc. were kept outside the coupe door in corridor, which was not cleaned during night & till 10 AM next day. The whole corridor looked like a train's Garbage/dust bin. Again I had to call train Suptd. & showed him the services being provided to I AC passengers. Finally it was cleaned around 11 AM i.e. after 13/14 hours after dinner service. 3. If this is the status of I AC passengers, what to say of others in II AC & II sleeper class passengers. Cleanliness is totally missing even in I AC. more

Anything to do with Indian government, and state governments, is all about the lack of Ethics and Civic Sense. Once these are improved all the other material things will show improvement. more

Railway Minister's claims & publicising "Good Work"are mostly eye wash. Tinkering few issues here and there and talking big is the rule of the present system. It must be noted that "there is almost No walk The Talk". I travelled to & Fro Pune to Vadodara in 1st AC a week back. The services have gone from Good to bad. Not a single Bed Cover - though claimed to be washed- out of a bundle of 25 covers were all stained, unwashed -just folded. Pillows were much below usable standard, I do not understand what is "So Good" has been done. more

Mr.S.N.Mittal, Sir you have mentioned in your post "in the last 3 years only some things have changed in the railways". Sir, I was at the Chennai Central last week to see off a close family. They had a wait listed ticket which did not get confirmed and after coming to the station I was given the job of cancelling the ticket. After a lot of efforts I found the specific counter C1& C2 and was shocked to find out that the unconfirmed tickets have to be cancelled and hour or at least 30 minutes before the departure of the train or else the entire amount is forfieted. This was not the case the last time I had faced such a situation, maybe a couple of years ago. Rs.1300 gone down the drain. Are these the ACCHHE DIN???? Secondly, the station platforms are flodded with beggars.The best place for the beggar mafia to operate. RPF is doing nothing about it and are these the Achhe DIn??? Sir,The Railway has not made any change in reality. 1-Platforms are filthy with passengers sleeping on the platforms. 2-Most Platform in Chennai DO NOT HAVE FANS. especially platform # 9 3-vendors and beggars are flooding the platforms and stations 4-unreserved /open class ticket passengers are in reserved compartments. 5- unauthorised food /catering vendors are selling food on the trains.apart from the books,stationaries and whatnots????? So Sir, Where has the Railways improved????????? Will love to see the changes though.... more

Do not trust ANYTHING which this Govt of 2014 says. It is all bloody hogwash and fooling around. You have to, like all others, tolerate them until 2019 and then you have the liberty dump them in the drain. more
