RAILWAYS SETS THE TONE TO CREATE WEALTH FROM WASTE :

Chennai Division of Southern Railways realized that the Garbage generated from the 2 main stations Chennai Central & Egmore was to the tune of 14.5 Tonnes. 8.5 Tonnes of it is Bio degradable. The first and foremost step they are to take is to, segregate the Garbage into Bio Degradable and Non Bio degradable . That itself is a GIGANTIC STRIDE taken up by the Government Establishment to save the Environment .

This segregation , which has been suggested , requested and repeated by so many N.G.O.’s, Municipal authorities . No one heeded to the Pamphlets and the many Videos on Cleanliness . But this will definitely be a Practical yielding results immediately . As,

* First of all the 100’s of Rail workers involved in the cleaning and the allied operations right up to the Managerial staff will come to know the recycle of Biodegradable waste , and the need to segregate the Plastic waste for a different purpose .
* Next , all this practice of segregation will conscientise the 5,00,000 passengers every day using the 2 Main Railway Stations . I am sure these passengers will take the message back with them to their homes, work places, educational Institutions , their municipalities.
*Over 150 Southern Railway stations have been made garbage free with the help of N.G.O’s, Students .
* Further The Anti Liter Campaign by S.R. in stations collected more than Rs.2 Lakhs as fines .

This practical & Timely initiative from the Chennai Division of Southern Railways has set the tone to bring Revenue from Waste ; and segregate the Garbage . Offer to the Passengers clean , hygienic stations.

I think the Indian Railways should adopt this immediately , on the Remaining 7,216 Railway stations , 70,000 Coaches [All coaches , and not restricted to Tajas, Shatabdi, Rajadhani ]across India, so that the 22 Million Passengers will experience hygienic atmosphere , clean Toilets with ) Complaints.
WE THE CUSTOMERS COUNT ON YOU THE INDIAN RAILWAYS. more

It is an excellent step taken by SR and Railway ministry must look into it and same must adopted by all over india. As i said previously if we as Indian want to respect and follow the rules there must be heavy fine for littering even a piece of chocolate paper if it is not deposited into its proper place. Heavy fine is the best possible solution for keeping northern zones stations as most of the people are illiterate and lower class and they don't care while littering irrespective of places most of them is the "PAAN and GHUTKA" which you will find it in the form of spit everywhere. more

Strong implementation is need of the hour with fine if required jail. we Indians want cleanness but do not want to practice.we want everything free. loan should be waved off ,we do not want to give tax but want development 100 % within few years. it is really pathetic.when the indians will be real Indians ! more
