Railways - Surgery Needed

There is only 3 reasons for Suresh Prabhu committing on Feb 20, 2016 that the new foot over bridge at elphinstone road stn would be constructed and it not being done.

1) he committed and didn't do anything
2) railways officials failed to execute
3) there were no timely funds.

If the answer was # 3, I seriously urge railways to work with corp affairs ministry and open csr program for railway works. Many corporates of mumbai from csr monies would have happily donated/spent for this cause.

Stampede at Eliphistone is due to over rush at the time of office, school, college etc. All together it's a mess at the office hours. So local government and Railways should take some concrete steps like changing office hours or school, college timings to different slots. This way at least rush can be reduced during peak hours. All concerned should co-operate. more
All projects recommended by people can never be accepted, you need money. Moreover In maharashtra Politics . Once George Fernandez said, I cannot complete all projects saught by public even in next 100 years. The fact is stampde could have been avoided even without a new or modified F.O.B. It was a Railway Made disaster and no one wants to punish hard core habitual criminals and vultures of Railway. more
Projects need to be executed fast. The Railway Minister must find out the loopholes in implementing the projects and resolve it.

Central Railway needs to adhere to time schedule strictly. Otherwise, the preparation of time scheudle is a waste of time.

As the passengers are increasing day by day, timely running of trains can avoid rush to some extent. Delay can invite more crowds and can cause great hardships to passengers. more
we cannot  the services of  former minister  Suresh Prabu who honored the public view through social media  did  some thing better. It was he who sanctioned  the fund  while some others keeping files without cleared. Somethings is better than nothing On Sunday, 1 October 2017 1:40 AM, Seema Somani wrote: more

You are right. Ministers often make promises/commitments and easily forget things.  They remember the voters after 5 year term when the next election comes due. It is our fate that we can not call back the  non performers being a big democracy!!!!! This kind of incidents will continue as the killed ones are others and not me or my close relatives.  No value for human life of others.  In the past so many accidents took place but railway didn't learn anything, every time there is a big sorry for it.  Recently one Central Minister has written to Rly Minister reg changing of coaches - he has seen several passengers rush from one end to other because of this change.  Why still there is no coach indicators in the platform ???  Without making present system fool proof we are going for bullet train.
