rampant illegal constructions

Recent incidents of fires in congested Delhi 6 has made government take drastic steps and lots of small scale factories functioning from small homes, made verticals without any permission are sealed now
Factories have been here since ages
Initially the areas were meant to rehabilitate refugees from Pakistan after partition
Gen next was ashamed of their address of Delhi 6,despite the glamor shown in the movie Delhi 6 about joint families
Facts are that each family is involved in litigation and exceptions are rare
No reputed school was ready to give forms to admit kids living in Delhi 6
No father was willing to give his daughter to marry a boy living in Delhi 6 ( unless it was abandoned step daughter or a family of innumerable daughters and dowry was difficult to generate)
Beautification of Chandni Chowk is expected soon, making the place as heritage site along with Red Fort

Delhi 6 is category E or F
Greater kailash is Category B
Still there's rampant illegal constructions
Viruses of illegalities are here too
Why not look into illegalities of category B?
People have a genetic disorder of breaking the rules and getting away from them through bribes

Don't spare the rich and influential and target only people who are functional from Delhi 6
Do visit these areas and find out about risks due to fires and rules being broken by a majority of people who might have also given sympathy land just after partition
Rows of SUVs parked in narrow lanes of greater kailash 1,specially R block will make an inferno if there's just a spark of ignition more

Mr Sanjay Sodhi got my post deleted . Hopefully likes of him don't have to live on first floor, bought with own money, surrounded by Squatters on ground floor and barsati floor, facing the wrath of builders on daily basis, filling up buckets of water during early morning for past 30 years plus, despite having a water connection and a functional meter. I wish that likes of him don't have to live as a tenant also because tenants do have human rights And the government talks about security of women on the roads and elsewhere Harsh reality is that.... Women are not secure within their own homes more
The changing shape of Delhi. Many factory owners have been forced to shut and move out to Bawana or Narela industrial areas. Mixed use is for commercial space. Delhi is second to none in providing livelihood, business, growth, taxes, a good life. yes it has its own share of problems- population explosion, more pressure on resources than it can handle. Govt. is more focused on bribes and shall remain to do so. The onus lies on the people to try and make delhi more comfortable and beautiful. There cannot be progress if people bind themselves to archaic laws. more
Sad state of affairs. The mischief in the mixed land use, made only to protect industrial activities in residential areas is coming home to roost now. Rules require 100% application invariably for soceity to grow in an orderly fashion. Knowing that is political and beuroacratic class is corrupt, the least the judiciary should have done is to crush non conforming activities. Instead they went in harmony with this corrupt cabal. I would put the entire blame for the condition in which delhi in particular and india in general for the vacillation and spinelessness being shown by the judiciary. They have absolutely no qualms about keeping decisions pending for ages and indiscriminate deviation from the law in the name of fatuous justice. more
This building at Shalimar Bagh had 4 floors on a plot of 100 only. Fire started from ground floor kitchen which was locked. Dead bodies had to be taken out by firemen, who jumped inside from adjacent building, saving few lives. R block GK-1 ND has plots of size 200, builders have added 4 floors, leaving no Escape Routes in case of Mishaps. MCD roads have been encroached upon to get more covered areas. Why are these illegalities Not Visible to the Authorities? If Traffic Police Can Impose Heavy Fines and bring about change in mindsets of Indians who fear None, why authorities cannot act upon illegal encroachments? Is Life of Firemen Dirt Cheap? more
Impact of illegal construction in regular colony Shalimar Garden Building was engulfed in fire 3 women died Lots of people including kids injured Will Delhi government wake up? more
