This can be done by providing free of cost to all females and the elderly smart phones with Apps whereby either the police or volunteer teams can b alerted by use of App similar to what is used by Uber or Ola about imminent occurrence of rape or other crime for their quickly making themseves available to prevent commission of rape or other crime. For undelayed punishment of the culprits the following steps are critical. For quickly compiling evidence-- scientific and forensic evidence as well as scene-to-scene reconstruction etc--. the required strength of staff and expertise have not been available and become severe constraints in the absence of the same in each major centre and, at least each District Headquarters/ . On the very day of occurrence of crime like rape and murder. an Officer should be appointed who will be coordinating Authority to appoint and follow up with all concerned like forensic expert, the agent who will collect the scientific evidence, the agent who is responsible for scene-to-scene reconstruction . The prosecuting authority may be the coordinating officer referred to in this paragraph. A Standing Fast Track Court should exist which is dedicated to try incidents of crime like rape or murder from the very day next to that of occurrence of the crime with hearing on day to day basis allowing no adjournments. This cour should issue judgement within twenty days following the commission of crime. No Appeal should be permitted against the judgement of the Fast Track Court. more

Encounters are being misused by way of substitute for punishment. Instead Law should provide for requisite number of Standing Courts that dispense instant justice within a day or two without requiring forensic, scientific evidence, scene-to-scene reconstruction of the occurrence of crime and, instead, the Judge visiting spot, taking the evidence on the spot. No Appeal should be permitted in the case of rape followed by murder of the rape victim more  

Police should not be given judicial powers. They are always trigger happy and tend to misuse their power. What about the police who refused to register FIR telling that the case does not come under their purview and made nasty comments about the missing girl? Had they acted in time they could have saved the girl. We must push our lawmakers to make laws such that the case is decided in 2-3 weeks. Also retirement age of judges must be raised by two more years and every judge must be barred from holding any type of government or private job. To impress those in power for after retirement benefits judges tend to be favourable to them sometimes. Time frame for every case shall be determined and final judgement should be passed accordingly. Also judicial appointments shall be free from political interference. more
