Parents either allow their under-age children to drive or are not aware that they are driving without permission. In either case, they should be held responsible if the children are caught, break traffic rules, or meet with accidents where they cause injury or death of another person(s) more
Personally, I am somewhat surprised that The Indian Police Foundation (hope they are linked with the traffic police, because all observations are connected with those which the traffic police should know....) should come up with this kind of analysis. This would lend one the impression that this department wishes to learn from the public what should in fact be the basis of their existence. Must the public "observe" every detail for them........for them to act? As a first, they should in fact interview their own traffic police staff and ask about what all goes wrong on the roads..... more
All fleet cab drivers in Mumbai openly break traffic rules in front of the very eyes of the Traffic Police on duty and there is no action taken against them. Leave aside a fine, not even a warning is given to them by the on duty traffic police personnel. Can I think that the traffic police of Mumbai has issued a verbal blanket permit to all the operating fleets cabs in Mumbai, namely Ola/Uber/Meru/Etc. The drivers for these cabs come from outside Mumbai and have no knowledge of the traffic signs, signals and discipline. they turn their cars from any where and everywhere where there is a sign of "No U/Right/Left turn". They also drive their cars while talking on their mobile phones. These drivers show no responsibility or respect to other disciplined citizens of Mumbai. Their aggregators of such cabs should be penalized for every traffic violation committed by these cab drivers. Rest other violations are listed in details by other members in this circle. Action needs to be taken in all areas of traffic violation in order to ensure safety of all the citizens. more
Kolkata Police does not act on people, even at major intersections, where a large police picket is present: on 1. Dangerous and intimidating driving with incessant honking, 2. blocking the free left turn, where it exists, 3. crossing the stop line, mainly by autos and bikes, 4. Complete violation of lane discipline which makes the situation accident prone. First Kolkata Police need to book the violators. The State Government and Kolkata Municipal Corporation need to act and act fast. Many roads across the Kolkata city and suburbs have developed big craters and such roads are unfit for driving and accident prone. Many lane violations are because of the very poor condition of the roads. We have paid life time road tax for our vehicles. We demand a reasonably good road fit for driving. If we delay payment of road tax even by one day, we have to pay fine. We demand the government and the KMC to pay fine to us for such dilapidated condition of the roads. It is a pity that they can not build and maintain roads. See New York, London, and many such cities in developed countries where it rains and snows very heavily, but the condition of roads do not get deteriorated. Why can not we assimilate suitable road making and maintaining technology even after seven decades of independence? Government, ministers, and related officials of ULB need to be comprehensively pulled up for such lapses and dereliction of their duties and responsibilities. more
