I fully agree that the power situation in Noida has worsened this summer compared to last summer. The reason for frequent tripping of power, thougg for short durations, is not clear. Such interruptions are quite frequent... something like 2-3 times a day, though the duration varies from 10 minutes to 45 minutes. Most likely the reason is not due to non-availability of power, but due to the fact that maintenance systems and practices are practically non-existent in Noida and maybe at other locations also. Just have a look at the insulators of any overhead line. You will find these coated with dust and the shiny surface is invisible, thus the capability if acting as insulators is badly affected. There is absolutely no programme for cleaning of insulators or periodic checking of "jumpers"or checking of switches and fuse links.
Electricity department takes some action, though very slow indeed, only when a breakdown takes place. Then the machinery moves slowly and if you are lucky action may get taken and power supply restored after 2-6 hours, depending on the type of problem.
I AM AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER and understand these problems. The electricians have no equipment or instruments with them. All that they carry is one screwdriver and one plier. No one has any meters, to check earthing condition or continuity, etc.
Basically, the problem arises due to no site visits by senior engineers. They spend their time only in air-conditioned offices. Even their official contact numbers are usually switched off, so that they cannot be contacted.
