Recent malpractices by SBI

Our maid servant is almost illiterate and can sign her name only without being able to read or write English. We persuaded her to open a savings account with SBI , Gorui, Dum Dum cant, Kolkata,WB-700065. We also force her to save some meager amount for depositing in the bank every month. But recently bank is refusing to accept her little cash deposit and forcing her to apply for a Green Card/ ATM card with false declarations that she had read all the rules of the card and is conversant of using the card. The maid servant is now regretting our decision for forcing her to open an account with the bank . The bank manager is adamant of not allowing her to deposit money without Green card. Does it amount to violation of human Rights of a poor citizen? Hope to raise the matter to a Higher platform for redress of such problems.. more

"refusing to accept her little cash deposit and forcing her to apply for a Green Card/ ATM card with false declarations" is illegal. You can file complaint with Consumer Forum. The Best way is to make Bank account in the Post which is having Banking facilities, mush easier, convenient, and very near to your residence. It is prudent to state that the SBI even after merger of other sister Banks incurred Loss of several lacs of crors of rupees NOT Published effectively like that of their advertisements. It is rendering the services to disburse the LOANS to become "BAD LOANS" so to conveniently wipe out, as BAD LOANS, subsequently. Let us ask with the help of this forum that what the SBI Had done to it's own Senior Personnel's who had sanctioned, disbursed crorers of rupees by violating the NORMS and without true efforts to recover it. Why these official's are promoted even after losses of lacks and crorers of rupees. This is NOTHING BUT WHITE COLOR CRIME with hands in gloves with the criminals. BOTH ARE SAFE but the poor common-man suffers and is suffering. Above mentioned is a good example. more
I partially agree with Mr. Sankar Saran. Plese avoid to complain to Banking Ombudsman as most of them are hand in gloves with Banks and other service providers. Directly file a Consumer Complaint. Rasik Dagli Advocate. more
Let's put forward r campaign signatures towards PM website & to RBI Governor to look into r important matter. more
Let's join hands in change org signature campaign against Banks atrocities against r weaker section . more
Sir, there are more than 2,00,000 signatures on the petition of change.org on malpractices adopted by Banks. How many more signatures are required? more
The only way to kick them is to complain to the Banking Ombudsman or to file a case in the District Consumer Forum for Unfair trade practice or deficiency of service. These numb skulls will never learn to behave themselves properly. They think they are lords/ governor generals of India, whereas it is we who are paying their salaries and they enjoy at our cost. This lack of sensitivity and rude behaviour is a social problem in our country.Whoever seizes some power, starts behaving arrogantly- be it an ISA/ IPS/ Bank officer et al. or a clerk in office! The reason is that we have been enslaved by the Moghuls for 350 and then by the Britsh for 200 years. We have seen how we kowtowed to these foreign rulers. Now that we have won independence, we expect similar behaviour from those who are in need of our services. It will take another 100 years to change our work - culture. more
Going to consumer forum is not at all cost intensive. It ia almoat free. The decision of Ombudsman is binding on bank. Now first of all no bank can enforce you even to buy any card be it even ATM. I have already advised on the same iisue earlier a complaint need to be sent to SBI which itself is sufficient . Any help required please mail me the complete details. more
Based on my experience with Ombudsman, I can say that, Ombudsman doesn't have any power of taking a decision. The decision is taken by Bank and the same is communicated through the Ombudsman. Also, Ombudsman's award is not a binding on consumer, unless he accepts it. Going to Consumer forum could be cost intensive. Therefore, most convenient solution if filing online complaint with Bank.

For changing the system, we don't need time but willingness which is lacking with Govt. more
