Recently there was a big debate on NDTV regarding schools and their autocracy against all the rules. It was very apparent that most of the schools belong to those who are occupying power positions in Govt. and parents are afraid about their children and keeping quite in most of the cases. They charge for 12 months, that too in advance, the books and uniforms are sold by them at very higher rates and are mandatory to be purchased by them or through their vendors only. The transport charges are also for all 12 months, even for those two months when the vehicles are not operating. We should find the right authorities and link them up with such issues. more

Schools are no more for the purpose of education exclusively, these are of course Business Centres with high profit, no loss at all. Have we ever thought why it has happened in our country known for ethics specially to build future by virtue of education to children? Can we do something to change our society now? more

Education is in state list. The Central govt has no control on state education system. The states just see the CBSE syllabus and adopt some topics for the state education syllabus. The majority of the states, private education is a big business. In States like Kerala, there is a system called aided schools and colleges. These schools and colleges are private, from peons to principal is appointed by the management and salary is paid by the govt from tax payers money. These private institutions take 15 lakhs to crores for a teacher in school to a lecturer post in their colleges. (Recently many churches in Kerala declared 100-1000 crores as money received from donations of believers during the demonetization and made white using their officers in IT dept. And they are the managers of those institutions) There are over five thousand such institutions in Kerala, majority of them under the management of church and other minority organizations. When their parties come to power 1000s of acres of govt land is given free to them free of cost to start schools. Initially the land is used for play ground etc and later converted to farm land. Since they have vote bank power and organized and even courts their people are there to protect them. more
