In most cities where construction is taking place Construction Waste is being dumped here there and everywhere which makes most of cities dirty. There is need of recycling of these construction waste. There is technology for conversion of construction waste into bricks. In each city either the Municipal Corporation/Municipality may set up units for conversion of construction waste into bricks. These manufacturing/conversion units may be set up by Municipal authorities or by Private parties. An economic model may be framed which pays to contractors dealing in such waste at a reasonable rate and the manufacturing unit sells the bricks to builders and people constructing houses and buildings at a price which covers the manufacturing cost and some profit. Waste handling persons/contractors will be willing to sell construction waste to these brick manufacturing units as in any case they dump these waste at the nearest vacant space for which they are paid only the carriage cost but nothing for the construction waste. Payment for construction waste will make a positive gain for them and good economy for everyone. Simultaneously Municipal authorities must impose stiff penalty for dumping of construction waste. These measures will make cities clean. more
There are already rules framed by government regarding disposal of construction waste in 2016. There is no reported compliance if these rules from anywhere. All construction waste can not be converted into bricks. In fact, all waste can not be recycled also. The suggestion is good and should find applicability wherever possible. more
Yes malba from construction site comprising of brick bats, concrete-mortar and dust is recyclable. Why only recycled into bricks but this can also be crushed finely to replace sand in concrete. The aim should be to reduce the mining of river sand a stones and quarried stones for crushing. Not only this but some of the town garbage can also be recycled into construction material as densely compacted bricks and powdered fillers for concreting ( Fly Ash from thermal power plants are a perfect for concreting and converting into bricks). The use of reinforced concrete maybe restricted to only foundation and columns and roof slabs but the walls and roofing can be made by the use of many other recycled construction material. Use of mortar and plaster of sand and cement can be considerably reduced by making special inter lockable bricks and lighter resin bond wood particle boards -ply boards-laminates - wall papers -tiles etc. more
