Redemption of Physical Offers

Many products carry offers on them where it says there is a scheme, collect 10 boxes, wrappers and then take it to one of our retailers and get a discount. When you go to retailer, he says sorry we dont have the giveaways/give backs. So the poor consumer is stuck with the offer and no redemption. they brought the product in first place because of the offer otherwise they may have gone for lower price product. more

simple question: what was so tempting in the offer that you went for this product? Why not go for the "lower price product" as you mentioned? what was wrong with it? Did it not meet your needs? why did you willingly pay a higher price and go about looking for discount? That does not sound very smart, banking on baseless promises. It is our greed for these promotions that is letting the producers taking us for a ride. I just refuse to buy anything that has an offer of something else. Why should I? If I need a chocolate or flour or anything for my needs, I will buy just that at the best price possible. No offers. This come from greed. If we start focusing on our NEEDS and reduce our greed, things will get better on their own. more
Glad to hear that our fellow citizens are alert to such situations (thank you Ms Anshu). Because out there people are in abundance to "take you for a ride"...... more
Britishers made the Laws to suppress the people of India .Successive Govt has still latched on to them for the same objective. more
In India , financial crime is ignored by authorities who treat the complainant as a "Fool to be fooled by any smart guy or entity" So it goes on and on. In US there is a system of "Class Action Suit" where even one person takes the company to court for fraudulant/defective practice and the judgement is applicable to everybody affected and is compensated by the culprit organization. more
It should be treated as a cheating and action should be taken as per law by Consumer Affairs Department. more
