Reduce sugar content
I feel more often than not i have found foods with very high sugar content. Be it britannia milk bikis, bourborne, jams or sweet yoghurts or even shrikhands of amul.
Can fssai conduct a drive where sugar can be reduce by 30% in some of these extra sugary foods or simply create two versions.
The less sugar version may find many takers and if 2 versions exist it could even boost sale for some of these products. more

White Sugar or refined/double refined is next best to slow Poison while the mother of sugar, that is, Jaggery or Gur (made from sugarcane) is not that harmful when used in moderation with physical exercise. Refining removes most of nutritional minerals vital to human need. There are overwhelming scientific and clinical evidences in support of this fact. The resultant effect is likely to increase diabetic population with further health complications. Unfortunately we, the Indians, are largely unmindful of this. No government agency or any institution advocates the preventive steps in addressing this concern which has the potential of an epidemic scale. Mera Bharat Mahaan !!! more

Sugar percentage is decided to maintain a particular taste in the products. Lesser sugar contents may spoil the taste. Therefore, I am unable to understand, how can FSSAI control sugar contents of products manufactured by a company. There are low sugar versions available in market and people have options of buying those products. more
