Regarading TDR FLIE

IRCTC IS NOT ALLOWING THE PASSENGER TO FILE TDR AS IT SHOULD BE FILED BEFORE 4 HRS OF SHEDULED DEPARTURE. BUT WHY THEY ARE NOT ALLOWING IF A PERSON MISSED THE TRAIN ,CAN NOT FILE TDR. IT ONE WAY OF EARNING MONEY BY RLY AS IT HAS HAPPENED TO MY MY SON AS HE HAS TO TRAVEL FROM ADI-INDB BY TRAIN NO :19309 AND UNFORTUNATELY HE MISSED THE TRAIN AFTER ATTENDING HIS EXAM. AND RLY DID NOT ALLOWED AND POP UP CAME THAT "CAN NOT FILE TDR AS TO BE FILED BEFORE 4 OF SCHEDULED DEPARTURE .KNOWINGLY NO ONE MISSES THE TRAIN. SO THIS OUR INDIAN RAILWAYS HOW CHEATING AND MAKING MONEY IN SO MANY WAYS. OK WILL AGREE IT IS ITS RULE,BUT WHAT ABOUT PASSENGER AND CAN NOT MISS THE TRAIN DELIBERATELY more

Railway is a public utility organisation and should act for the benefit of the passengers. For political reasons, Railway is not increasing the fares, but imposing various penalties to increase the revenue. The cancellation charges, flexi fare system, more fare for premium trains, abnormal charges for platform tickets should be re-examined. more  
As I understand the Rlys always have the time (in hours) limit to surrender the unused tickets (reserved or unreserved). In current scenario, the reserved unused tickets can be surrendered (equivalent to submitting TDR) within 4 hours from the time of departure of the train. The logic of time limit of 4 hours is set assuming that the person cannot use the ticket (part of journey) and return back to the original station. The time limit of 4 hours can be debated for a change. But it has to be there..... Software glitches are different issues and not concerned with the rule..... more  
I have no idea. I travel a lot but I make my Railway Ticket through Rail ways authorized counter [reservation & cancellations (based on requirement)] and so far did not find any problem. The rule should be to allow the refund filing after few hours of actual departure of train but before the arrival in the destination. more  
yes, IRCTC has done so many unethical things, I have also the victim with IRCTC, and his customer care is a harassing center in such cases. in this Vigilance Awareness Week , we should have to raise voice against this injustice and protect the consumer rights.thanks to All who have share it more
