Regarding providing insurance in railways
Yes this a very great ,bold & welcome move.Really from the day Mr Prabhu has taken over the reigns of railways we r finding drastic changes.Really he is India's first such a dashing railway minister who is trying to overhaul railways.Just for two rupees such a coverage is provided its really great. more

Like in air travel the insurance should ne optional. People who prefer may take it. Its cost should not be added to the ticket price. In that case the claims will never be taken seriously by the railways. Railways should not burden the common mass with another insurance surcharge on the ticket. more

Kindly donot retain the amount if the ticket is cancelled properly.But an excellent scheme since the start of Indian Railways. more

I feel that it is a good proposal to insure life and luggage theft as default option with a nominal premium per ticket based on the class of journey. regarding displays announcement may be made in the compartments the train's next stop to alert the passengers,specially during night travel. more
