Registry office making money

Dear Members- I am writing you to discuss the issue related to a land registry. I have seen that a registrar office and lawyer makes lots of money from the back door. When someone purchases a piece of land and make payment to the seller by account to account transfer and also pay registry fee and stamp duty etc. The things are not over here.

Finally, 1% of the total values of the land charged by Registrar office and lawyer. I am not sure that 1% directly goes to a registrar or not. Further, the registrar office and a lawyer would not provide any receipt for this 1 %. I found this is completely Loot in the registry office. I think the government needs to pay attention and take strict action against it.

I anticipated the inputs from our local circle's community.

Agreed Mr Ashok Golas ji. In order to save a minor amount on taxes, people end up exchanging unrecognised and un recorded money at a huge amount or quantum resulting in their own risk. more  
Mr. Chitradeep Sengupta: Fixation of circle rates was done by the government with a view to minimse speculation and to avoid cheating by the buyer and seller who want to register their transaction at minimal disclosed cost with both buyer and seller benefiting by this loot of under declaration by paying lesser income tax and lesser stamp duty. There is nothing in law to preclude registration of property at a price higher than the circle rate. In all civilised countries, both buyer & seller have to disclose the transaction price unlike India where they cheat the government and declare the minimal possible and balance amount is transacted in cash. In all this discourse, no one has blamed the nefarious nexus between buyers & sellers to wifully cheat the government. MERA BHARAT MAHAAN !!!! more  
One should not let circle rates be decided merely by the market prices. Market prices are speculative. Government's job is to provide affordable housing and spaces. It is not the government's job to speculate. Increased circle rates will only result in the property prices shooting up much further to a point when no average Indian can buy, but land will be bought by MNC's and outsiders. more
