I would also like to post the pictures of the roads but do not know how to, can someone please help me. I would like to add that Ramesh Bhagwat's suggestion that tolls should be suspended. Also if LCM can help to collect some money from all of us and fight in the courts, something may come of it. more
I live in Pune and the Pune Municipality just does not listen to us. I have written several mails to them showing photos of our road condition, they send their man to do a recee but then nothing is ever done. Fed up of their apathy, I wrote to two newpapers, The Indian Express and Sakal showing picture of terrible roads with water logging but none of them reported it. if we could leave India I would as things are becoming even worse than ever. The government is looting us, the manufacturers are looting us, the retailers are looting us, the government bodies charge us exorbitantly but do not pay heed to our needs, so what do we do? Can the LCM please take it up with the government. more
On 28th June due to the bad condition of the road my car got damaged as a stone placed on the road hit the underbody damaging the radiator and impacting the transmission casing. It was past 9 pm, a prime locality in Mumbai and it was raining. The Insurance company barely covered 40% of the claim citing some things are 'normal wear and tear'. When I read such posts I don't know whether to laugh or cry. The situation is far too bad and no authority is willing to do anything about it. It was a big task for me to even file an official complaint. I was told that there are too many such instances for anyone to do anything about this. We can only live in hope or do we wake up and do something radical for a change? more
Roads are bad everywhere except in New Delhi. If the reimbursements become rule then Government will be bankrupt in 1 year. But one thing we can start with. Railways should reimburse 50% of fare if the train comes late by more than 1 hour. This is to aid the people for the extra trouble and expenses incurred because of the train coming late. more
Manuel Aaron: Everybody's views, expressed above, are on the dot. Bad roads are a golden opportunity for Ministers to milk the public. Bad roads have to be re-laid again, and again and yet again. And every time it fetches mamools, again and again and yet again. We notice that while the roads on which VIPs live, where important places like the Raj Bhavans, Airports, Government HQs exist, the roads are miraculously good. Who cares what roads the Aam Aadmi moves on! It is enough to take care of the aam aadmi during Election time, once in five years. Till then, the golden goose (bad roads) will regularly lay its golden eggs. more
