Reliance General insurance - online cheating
when I went for online renewal of two wheeler policy from Reliance general insurance policy after pestering daily reminders starting 45 days ahead of the due date the premium initially shown applicable to my policy was Rs.2900. When I verified the details the system was set to show two years premium by default though one year option was also available. Any gullible policyholder would fall in this first trap and renew the policy for two years even unaware of the details. I overcame this hurdle and ordered for a one-year renewal. The premium quoted for one year was Rs1465/ and I opted for payment. Till the moment I opened the payment menu the amount remained the same. However, when I opened the debit card payment screen I was surprised to note the amount box showed Rs2132/. Had I made the payment without noticing the deceitful change in amount I would have ended up paying Rs2132/.SO I started the process, again and again, to verify whether this was deliberate manipulation. In the third attempt, it did not change as happened earlier and showed Rs.1465/. SO I went ahead and made the payment of Rs.1465/. When I downloaded the policy there was the second surprise. The policy showed a premium of Rs1412/only and so leaving the difference of Rs. 53 unaccounted.When I contacted the help desk and furnished the details thru online chat, after taking their own time a message was flashed that the time was over and I may start the chat again.????. To the email complaint, the auto-reply says "the matter is looked into" Taking the whole things into view it is clear that the system itself is designed to take the gullible public for a ride and cheat. once bitten twice shy. more

It is true that Reliance Two wheeler insurance amount quoted is very high. We usually get it done at reliance outlets or online as it is easy to take..but when i enquired it is very high and i had approached a govt. insurance company where in they were charging around Rs.1200/- p.a for comprehensive insurance of two wheeler. Better go for UTI INDIA ..you can also do it online.. more

The Anil Ambani group is famous for fleecing customers. This started with the issue of Reliance power a number of years ago. That is why I never apply to any of their new issues. more

This amounts to fleecing of customers which is common with the service providers - It should be taken up with IRDA so that other are not made to suffer more

In India these type of tactics are called business knacks and followed by all corporates. There is nobody to defend us. more
