REMEDY FOR EXORBITANT PRICES IN MULTIPLEXES, CINEMA THEATERS :

Good News for the maharashtra Cinema goers . No need to bicker with the traders on M.R.P. regulations . Minister agreed with the opposition leader that the Cinema Houses and Multiplexes are looting the cine goers selling food , beverage and water at exorbitant cost [selling popcorn worth 10 at 80 and water @80 ] .

And as per the rules of 1966 there is no prohibition of taking food items into the Theater . Minister has asked the authorities to allow food items , water into multiplexes from August 1st . What is intriguing is how did we allow this 1966 rule to be overlooked . We have to be aware to see that we don't get exploited by the Greedy .

I think that should be sufficient for the Cine goers walk in with their snax and water .This should automatically reduce the prices .

Tamilnadu the Actors Association has said this , hope Government also will endorse . It is only a question of time that the other states follow. more

Good move by Maharashtra State more
An appreciable move which will end the monopoly of the multiplexes and theatre hall owners. Foods being sold at these places at higher cost should be totally boycotted by cine goers. Similar action should also be taken in regards to the food stuffs being sold at airports. more
It should be implemented in all state. more
A good move that food items will be allowed to Cinema Houses and Multiplexes, where the water and food items were sold at exorbitant prices. more
What about airports? In Patna airport, I saw a 'Low cost outlet', presumably run by the Government, where tea was sold for Rs 20. So this tiny airport has no other outlet selling overpriced tea, coffee, and soft drinks. more
