Remove 4 Month Advance booking system

Dear all
Please remove this 4 months adv booking system, its useless, how can one plan their prog 4 months in adv. Its next to impossible for a person who is on Job. We may get holiday we may not. And apart from ppl like us how can anybody plan that after 4 months where are we suppose to go. This is not like some intl holiday which can be planned 4 months in adv. Apart from this on one hand you said no Increase in fares but on other side cancellation charges are up. 4 Months adv booking leads to high probability of cancellation leading to waste of ppls money and gives income to railways without passenger going anywhere. How does this justify sir. 2 Months time is perfect for anybody. EVEN someone like PM wont be sure 4 months down the line where and what his schedule will be how can a common man plan. Please look in to the matter. more

when lot of people are ready to plan before 180 days then it is not possible for railways to drop it. Instead any other alternatives like additional trains in holiday season atleast in different timings even if it reaches the destination at midnight can be given incase their will not be problm in managing the train journey especially signal problems. more
Railway must provide seperate quota for advance reservation of 120 days, 30 dYS AND 15 DAYS THEN TATKAL. more
Must allow for a certain number of seats at each different time intervals to guarantee your travel plans... more
Suggestion for scraping 120 days advance booking is given by almost 80 percent of respondents I guess but neither the moderator of this circle nor the railway official want to take this forward. These comments are simply being ignored for the good of railway. Also I would request railway minister to give some handheld device to every TTE who checks tickets in train and sells missed passenger tickets to auctioned price. TTE should be allowed to mark tickets verified through some kind of barcode that to need to imprinted on ticket and it should automatically update next waitlisted ticket as confirmed through SMS more
In all the compartments, the length of side berth is short and inconvenient. Must re-design as pax is paying same fare. more
