REPLACEMENT FOR SINGLE USE TOXIC PLASTIC , YET REPLACEMENT FOR WATER BOTTLES ,

PACKAGING MATERIALS FOR MANUFACTURED ITEMS :
BAUHINIA RACEMOSA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BIDI LEAF.

The use of this leaves were in vogue for ages wherever Banana leaf was scarce in dry areas . It was used for packing pasty food stuff , wet raw non vegetarian stuff and rolling Beedies.
Look at the picture and the people occupied , all women and poor who fetch some additional income for the family . Even at leisure time can be done for additional income .
The self Help Groups and Women’s groups have geared up to meet the challenge .3 or 4 leaves are stitched with a stiff grass stem , again a eco friendly component .
Each leaf costs Rs.1,30.

A GOOD SOURCE OF INCOME FOR THE UNEMPLOYED.

With this the thin plastic mainly used by the small hotels and restaurants can be replaced . As it is leaf it gets degraded into compost in 6 months.

NEXT PROJECT IS TO REPLACE THE WATER BOTTLES AND MATERIAL FOR PACKAGED FOOD STUFF BY FACTORIES . more

When plastics was not there we were still living a nice life. Can't we revive the same and save nature. more
If we look 70s, 80s, 90s era we will find that we were close to nature but slowly we have been eliminating all natural resources for the sake of development which is now costing human lives. My point of view is that plastic in any form for consumption human being is harmful and extremely dangerous recently I read in one article that human genes are affected with almost 10 types of plastic which means our coming generation will be gifted with plastic borne disease. Government must complete alternative for removal of plastic completely from planet then only we can save our self from being extinct. more
Use of plastic bottles should be stopped. more

its just not govt to do. its these big business should do, temples, Hotels, Groceries stores, vegetable vendors, once they push back customers to bring they own bags and box, things will change, as long they supply this will happen. i see many places have changed to giving paper bags but the biggest killer of all is the groceries packing in Big bazaar,More and other huge departmental stores, there is no change yet done by any of these big players. more
