The sale of gutkha sale has become a non-bailable offence in Maharashtra. The directives were issued following a Supreme Court decision to allow the state to take action against offenders under section 328 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Prevention of manufacturing, stocking and selling of all forms of chewing tobacco (Gutka/Kharra) must be included in 'Swatchch Bharat ' programmes. more

SHAHID AKRAM ZIAEE As rightly said, concerned government machinery's are aware of this and they act hand in gloves with the seller and fill up their pockets regularly. When Gutka sale is banned how can it is there for sale. Production needs to be banned. As well said every citizen must change for the good, then this will happen. Strict punishment, not in terms of fine/penalty, must be in place and it should be executed in public place, then people may realize. This is the only solution if you want eradicate in Toto. more

What if gutka and other tobacco products are sold in shops which are less than 10m from school. There is a police chowky also adjacent to the school, where I have given oral complaint several times. more
