Report Railway Malpractices/Anomalies

Dear Railways Circle Members:

Member Mr. Akash Jain reported the 142 Waitlist at 8 am on ticket opening day with a picture in this circle leading us to investigate and fix a loophole. This will make over 4000 tickets available daily to citizens.

We encourage each one of you to be the change agent. Report (with picture if possible) any malpractice/anomaly that you observe and we will review it based on criticality.

With your active role, we will Make Railways Better!

Thank you,
Ministry of Railways more

sir I wish 2 write in connection with watertapsI hv observed & rectified wastage of water.MAY BE PERSON/USING THE PIPE FAILED TO CHECK WHETHER IT IS PROPERLY CLOSED.But, if the taps are GOOD there is NO need 2 check ?  When the nozzle is lifted UP water flows. When one takes away hand, it shd stop - instead of flowing.  My feeling is either the weight of the nozzle is LESS to come back to normal on its own & in some cases, it is due to being rusty and fget stuck.  whenever I happen to see I save water ..I do not knowq how may care to ensure whether water stopos after use.   Excuse me, if the msg is lengthy.  Regards..v.manian On Friday, 27 March 2015 1:05 PM, Ministry Of Railways wrote: more

I went to Panchgram railway station in Badarpur - Silchar Section of NF Railway in 2nd half of March 2015. That Section was converted from metergauge to broadgauge. Stations and platforms are newly built. I saw the new platform of Panchgram station was built at ground level. In other railway zones, nowadays existing platforms are lifted to ease passengers to board the train. So I wondered why a new platform was built at ground level. Is it because another work order would be issued within few years to lift the platform level and cut-money would be shared from that contractor again? So the system continues....... more
Railways is head over heels in making money only., but cleverly shunning away from being passenger friendly. 1. There is certainly no need to increase fare of the PLATFORM TICKET which is directly affecting common man, where as sparing all the money fleecing mafia of coolies and all other categories of anti social groups enter and rule the platforms now even more daringly. Though the entry to platforms is restricted to the needy passengers only - the rest are reeping benefits of railways generous partial rules. It should be immediately revamped in advantage of the passengers. 2. All freedom fighters of state and Central rankings must be allowed to travel in Railways with FREE PASS to their choice of their destination, as they are still at countable numbers. It would be great honour to respect them alike and by enforcing this NOBLE ACTION Indian railways will escalate its value and volume. Otherwise, whatever said and done here will be falling on deaf ears. Please take immediate action and help making INDIAN CITIZEN PROUD about his nation and Railways first rather than energising emotionless business oriented "making India"..! All railway projects from building a station/platform, passenger facilities, railway tracks have poor quality. the tracks are so poorly made that train shakes badly during the run. the main reason for this is poor quality contractors in railways. many of them are local mafias. no advanced equipment are used for construction. it is exactly the same as highways before it entered PP model. today we have highways without potholes as all roads are made by high quality contractors using advanced machinery. the same needs to be replicated in railways. this will improve the speed of trains. similarly building of coaches should be done in PPP. it needs lots of thoughts on how contracts can be made. doing this is more important than doing a high speed corridor. this grass root change once implemented will help railways improve efficiency in the longer term. more
