Often Senior Citizens are put to great inconvenience by allotment to middle and upper berths particularly where there are 3 tier side berths. My suggestion is that seniors (above 60 yrs) must always be allotted lower berths, if necessary by keeping the seat allocation open till the chart is prepared. Confirmation of seat may be communicated at least 8 hours before train departure to the mobile number / email. more
I do agree with the suggestion. In fact senior citizens and physically challenged people should be given first priority in selection of lower berths. I too had voiced on the issue earlier. My suggestion was to add another option of physically challenged and senior citizens in the booking page of IRCTC. more
Yes I agree with the suggestion. In fact ,I have also written about this separately. May I add that pregnant women in advanced stage should also be allotted lower berths.Also, persons with back problem like slip disk should be given lower berth. more
