Reservation

Reservation should be scrapped altogether. Instead opportunities should be created through training and skill development to make the persons employable. Thus one would learn to feed himself honourably rather than depend on food thrown at him.
A person who makes himself employable, would also make his next generation employable. Else, the crutches provided by the Crongress government in the form of reservation shall be passed on. more

I agree, the reservations be gradually scrapped and replaced by free quality education and support so that protectionism goes and competence comes in. Political reservations may however continue for the time being. more
95/100 engineers are not employable in India.....It is not just reservation, it is also degrading quality of education. Employers are not looking for 100% technically sound fresh engineers, they want at least 25% soft skills and communication is the plus point. Fresh graduates do not know the difference in writing an email/covering letter and sending an SMS.....There is no meaning in having 100 colleges in every state, it is the quality of output that matter......Make Industry training mandatory... along with degree certificate. more
In my opinion, reservations should be made limited to very few areas but not open to everything. This will not only give room for development but also encourages healthy competition. more
Yes, in my opinion reservation should be eliminated and in place of this Government has to come up with different schemes for people with below average income and have them to give pure competition to others. more
Sir, I beg to differ from you. If reservation is retained in education, the system will remain faulty & would churn out a certain fraction of incompetent professionals who will inturn create a mess in society like incompetent doctors, inefficient engineers & teachers & so on. Instead, let us do away with reservations in totality as indicated by Mr Iyer. more
