I think Modi Govt has become TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE towards Senior Citizens. They do not want Senior Citizens (Specially Non Pensioner ) to live in PEACE. If they continue like this then, probably they may not come in POWER in 2024 Elections. more
It is very unfortunate that Senior citizens concession is with drawn, in the earlier Govrnments concessions for Senior citizens was given with an understanding that it is one of the welfare measures offered by the concerned ministry, to day the Railway mister is thinking that by extending the concession Railways will incur loss, it is important that PMO should intervene and suitably educate the concerned ministry. more
They must restore the Senior citizen concession as per previous rule. more
Unfortunate. Not worth it, if hugely overhauling the system all the Indian Railways saves is around ₹2500 Crore by withdrawing Senior Citizen Concessions. This could see the trend of senior citizens moving towards alternate transportation, when railways are the most environmentally friendly. Pollution in travelling by train gets vastly reduced. Then those in question availing concessions as a percentage remain in single digits at 8.42%. Not scale alone, but scope of the and scale, wherein you would realise that the employment generation too gets a fillip when an assets gets optimally utilised when entire population over all ages travels. Restore concessions please. Without the concession many would have chosen to stay put, as the full ticket price would be beyond their means. Many effects, are thus induced. Is that progress, when a progressive nation gets defined by people being on the move! more
Agree. More so when the airfares are beyond our reach. The least we can expect as honest taxpayers is the restoration of rail concession to all Indian citizens above 60 years. more
