Restoring concession to in the rail fares to the senior citizens
Before the covid, the senior citizens used to get 40-50% concession in the rail fares. But the railways stopped this concession giving the reason of covid. However even after 4 years of disappearance of covid the railways has not restored this concession.
Many representations were made to the government but each time the railways is giving highly evading replies. Citizens will be busy serving the nation as a farmer or a teacher or a government/private sector employee or a home maker or a small businessman until they retire at the age of 60 years and attain the senior citizenship. They become free to travel around the country with their families only after the retirement. Many senior citizens are dependent on their children or meagre pension or life-long savings during their remaining life.
The concession given to the senior citizens was a great boon and encouragement to all the senior citizens to travel around the country.
Hence I earnestly appeal to all the senior citizens to write a letter to the Prime Minister for restoration of this concession. When the ministers, politicians, bureaucrats, railway employees and their families can travel free in the railways why not the senior citizens travel with some discount? more

I am going to give the other side of it that this group does not think of. Most seniors are well established by the time they retire. Hope they worked hard and saved money, have retirement plans and have no obligations. When the government run railways give you that "concession" as you call it, comes out of taxpayer money. The taxes paid by working young who are trying to establish and do all that you did. Asking for huge break is like asking for that middle class young to pay for the people who have now well established and some time very well to do. Is that right? This is a typical socialist idea that like other socialist ideas Indians still can't shake it up. Oh by the way I am also a senior with two hard working married children. more

PRESENT NDA GOVERNMENT IS RUN BY FEW PEOPLE,FOR FEW PEOPLE. THEY ARE DEAF, AND ONLY PM TAKES DECISSION. HE DONT CARE FOR ANY ONE.VERY WORST DECISSION. IT TOOK YEARS TO EARN SOME THING AND START GIVING SOCIAL BENIFITS, AND THIS GOVERNMENT BORROWED SO MUCH, FOR NEXT MAY BE 50 TO 100 YEARS, THEY WILL NOT ABLE TO GIVE ANYTHING more

Indian railway should look into it ,even PMO office is also requested to review and give their Positive response on the matter of seniors Citizens welfare. A person after working for more than 30 years in a GOVT / Army, does not accumulate much wealth to sustain Old Ages expensed. These are the few benefits ,which gives relief to old people when they are above 60 years and so. We all welcome the P.M. BJP Govt with Scheme of Insurance for 70 yrs and above people. Like this ,the Railway must think and re start the railway concession to senior citizens . And BJP govt can easily do it, with educated Ministers in the Govt. If BJP does not do it then who can do it Pappu gandhi with no brains and knowledge??????? more
