Restrciting Entry on Railway Stations/Platforms - Solutions

As many of you know, cleanliness was highlighted as a top priority for Railways Ministry.
One of the key areas to improve cleanliness was ensuring that only passengers with tickets or platform tickets and authorized vendors/train personnel are permitted to access the platforms.
Kindly share how something like this can be best implemented. Once everyone has had a chance to give inputs, we will compile them and share it via a whitepaper with Railways Ministry for implementation.

At Jammu Railway Station the cars with common public, sick, aged people are not allowed to drop the passenger in front of the station, Jammu station being in steps, bus parking at lowest level, then the taxi parking at second level, personal car parking at third level and designated place for car dropping at fourth level, the police on duty do not allow the car dropping at the designated space rather compel to pass through or park in the parking which result into shelling of Rs. 30, otherwise the car could have dropped the person and gone. There is clear nexus of police and parking contractor, there may be similar cases in other places. The cleanliness of Jammu Station is well known to all, Expect the platform area, whole outer railway complex is garbage bin. more

I think if proper waste management focus is given, good hygiene and cleanliness can be maintained as well garbage can be converted in to natural fertlizers as byproduct. more

If I had to prioritize, I would first get all restrooms fixed to not litter on the railway track. It is disgusting and irresponsible on the world's largest to dump excrement on railway track. By any standards its a health hazard. I think not investing in basic higene and jumping onto the bandwagon on introducing bullet trains is hypocritical. more

Restricting Entry on Railway Stations/Platforms - Solutions ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Create Guest area so that Guest coming to send off / receive passengers will be restricted in that area only 2. Guest area creation will permit only passenger into the platform. 3. Platform entry must be allowed by RPF by looking at their journey ticket. Platform ticket system must be removed for guests. 4. Use Railway staff / Private railway authorised people to mobilise the senior citizen / differently abled persons who need help to get into the platform to board the train 5. Platform must be closed on the track side so Railway station access via any other route must be restricted 6. Wherever possible, Railway must try to implement the electronic entry system for season ticket holders more
