Resuming Train, Bus and Flight services

Countries that were badly affected by Corona including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, etc. has started operating flights - both Domestic and International. Some of the countries like Canada which did not impose strict lockdown and still operated flights have flattened the curve. There is no massive increase in number of cases in Canada. In spite of not-so-strict lockdown, Air Canada and British Airways has laid off thousands of staff to survive. Aviation industry in India employs 30 lakh people and hospitality industry (Hotels, etc.) another 1 crore people. It is at the verge of collapse and cannot recover for quite a long period, if lockdown continues.

It is good time to operate flights to, at least, select countries like Canada that does not have too many cases. They can ferry at least Indians and OCI card holders safely without taking the risk of Covid spread. Government can maintain list of countries that are safe to fly and revise it every 15 days. By this, operations can be started gradually. Those coming back can be put in Hotels for 14 days under quarantine so that Hotel industry can also recover slowly. In Tamil Nadu, there are 4 international airports and 3 domestic airports. Passengers within India or abroad can be flown to 6 airports except Chennai and quarantined in Hotels in those cities. Smaller towns like Coimbatore, Trichy and Madurai has controlled Covid more efficiently and can treat few more cases coming from other states or countries. Government must do it immediately to prevent major damage to these industries. more

For obvious reasons our babus are very timid and also unconcerned. All they are worried about is release of their enhanced DA now and then. India is a country left to the mercy of Gods, and allowed to be ruled by dogs more
This govt center and states are not clear on what to do lock down and save lives or open up fully and do not worry about loss of lives. Choice is between the devil and the deep sea. I feel opening up is a better choice that too fully since Covid is not such a dreadful disease like plague, malaria etcywhich claimed thousands of lives. This partial opening and then closing /peeping /quarantine won't help the market. more
Quarantine should not be another loot. The passengers arriving from from abroad,I mean Indians can be made to be self quarantined .Making them stay in hotel etc will be additional burden on moderately economically sound people. This pont is to be taken up with appropriae people and should be redressed. more
we have allowed movement of migrants without taking care of their problems. Many states will feel the heat when we start factory or other prod operations. more
Construction industry as second to agriculture has totally paralised. The question is survival or earing for living. Both are important but a direction is required. more
