Immediate new revenue opportunities: All my suggestions are easy to implement. Indian Railways don't need new coaches, and no major expense needed to implement these suggestions. 1. Convert 2S coaches to RAC coaches. 2. Reduce the fare for 1st class non-Ac coaches by 40-50%. Mark 10-15% of 2nd class coaches to 1st class non-Ac coaches. 3. Allow onward booking facility for online booking. 4. Double the fare for commercial use/business visits/foreign citizens. Give additional benefits for double fare tickets. Priority waiting clearance, Ability to change the Name of the traveler, last moment rescheduling benefit, Seat selection choice, Boarding from any station, separate queue for ticketing/cancellation, complementary baggage check in, group booking etc. Give choice to non-commercial passengers to opt for double fare tickets. 5. Allow waiting ticket holders to board the train, but not reserved coaches. Mark one general coach dedicated to waiting ticket holders. 6. Gradually convert all passenger trains to Express trains. 6. Introduce a baggage check-in facility (like in flights). Allow baggage check-in till final destination. 7. Connect airports with nearest railway stations by dedicated and safe buses. Introduce air+rail onward journey booking in single itinerary. For safety reasons, only air ticket holders can board those buses. more

The following steps can help in generate immediate revenue 1) Issue of reservation tickets in sleeper/ AC coaches for seating in day times 2) addition of few Sleeper coaches and seating reservations in Passengers trains 3) Seating / sleeper arrangement in Space available in ONE SIDE Coaches. 4) General Coaches to covert in double Deckers 5) issue of setting tickets reservation after preparation of chart for short distance. 6) Convert passenger trains in fast trans and Fast trains to Express trains 7) Priority to senior citizens in lower birth. 8) More stoppages to weekly/ bi trains if trains are running less than 50% 9) Add / detach coaches as per requirements more

In railway compartment we should have vacuum operated toilet.This sewage of toilet should be collected at selected stations by using mechanical scraper laid between the railway track and same human waste should be used to generate power.This will make toilet more clean and comfortable and sewage can be utilize to generate power.This will not only provide power rather help us to have power from waste and waste management. more

Charging Rs 5 for a reservation form seems to be a silly suggestion. In the age of ticket vending machines, forms should be avoided. Increase platform tickets? Why anyone other than a passenger should be on the platform? Railways can make the stations self sustaining by making it commercial centers. more
