Just as we have seen many bus stations making way for complexes which serve as mall, offices as well as double up as bus stations. Railways can tie up with leading hotel chains, domestic as well as foriegn to set up state of the art Stations which will cater as good , decent hotels for customers.. travellers can book for these hotels via irctc only..this will help boost the railways income in a big way. BOT is the way forward.. more

Building solar systems across all the platforms can ensure huge savings for railways.. the same can also be implemented on roofs of trains .. No railways in the world have implemented this idea.. more

The railways can act as a game changer as far as NaMo's dream to build a national grid is concerned. With huge chunk of land resource available, railways can undertake OFC deployment project across all the railway lines in India.. they can tap the fiber at every nearest village to connect the panchayats... In addition the spare/ dark fibers can be leased to various telecom operators who are looking for building network redundancies.. Railtel fiber will provide the most stable fiber network as no one can work in rail land without permission ... in addition railway can lease land near tracks for errecting tower to telecom operator in exchange for wi-fi systems across India or simply get rent.. more
