Reversing Type 2 Diabetes

There are a growing number of doctors around the world questioning the current guidelines on treating chronic diseases. They say that these guidelines do not treat the "root causes" but only the "symptoms". If only the root causes were understood and treated people would be much more healthier.

Not treating the "root causes" only enriches the pharmaceutical companies, the food industry and all those in the health ministries and doctors who they bribe. As long as people at large are sick, they continue to profit in billions of dollars.

Below is a link to an article by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee, an UK based doctor, on how you can reverse type 2 diabetes by making simple lifestyle changes

I would advice members of this forum to take charge of your own health in your own hands. Your doctor is not interested in you becoming healthy. Invest time in your health, do your own research, make food your medication. more

This is true of all diseases, not only diabetes. more
Perhaps there are many different formulas for different types of people. However, I believe, only diet and lifestyle changes will reverse it. NOT medications. It is a disease of insulin resistance which means too much sugar in our body. Therefore stop putting sugar in your body. And sugar includes sweetmeats, refined carbohydrates like wheat, rice, pasta, pizza, starchy vegetables like potatoes, processed oils like canola, mazola etc., sugary drinks like fruit juices, coke, pepsi etc. However eat good fats like butter, ghee, oily fish, chicken, mutton and lots of leafy vegetables. We have been brainwashed for the last 50 years into believing that fats are bad for us but that, I believe, is not true. The results are phenomenal. Within a few weeks you will see your weight reducing and your blood sugar levels coming down towards the normal range. Don't forget to do a bit of exercise for added benefit. I have done it. My fasting blood glucose was in the diabetic range and in 6 weeks it came down to the normal range simply by changing my food! Once again, do your own research, take your health into your own hands and convince yourself. By trying the above lifestyle you have nothing to loose but everything to gain in your health. more
Mr Mathur: Thanks for your kind words. Sanjay: The approach for reversal of diabetes is personalized, as it depends on the severity, duration, medication history, age, and on the underlying root causes. Each case has to be analyzed and an appropriate approach has to used for different cases. Therefore, one size cannot fit all, although there are some good practices of diet and lifestyle which are beneficial to all, irrespective of whether they are diabetic or not. My experience with counselling other diabetics has been that the severity and root causes are vastly different for different people, and hence they all required a different approach. more
