right upper abdomen

When you feel pain that starts in the right upper abdomen, it is particularly difficult to specify the reason, as it can indicate problems with the liver, gallbladder or the upper intestinal tract. The quality and persistence of the pain may hint to a specific condition.
Cholecystitis (an inflamed gallbladder). The main symptom is a sudden sharp pain in the upper right side of your belly that can persist for hours. It has a tendency to spread toward the right shoulder. The painful area feels tender, and breathing deeply worsens the pain.
Gallstones may cause pain after eating fried and fatty foods that often ceases after a few hours.Cramping, sudden abdominal pain, and tenderness in the right upper part of your tummy that worsens when you consume fatty foods or alcohol may indicate liver damage, which may due to different conditions, such as hepatitis, alcohol abuse or cirrhosis.
The symptoms of duodenitis, the inflammation of the upper small intestine that is adjacent to the stomach are similar to that of gastritis, but the pain can also be experienced in the upper right side under the ribs. more

Very informative and educative, Brij ji. more
I am having mild pain in the lower abdomen in the right side for over two weeks. Have consulted nephrologist, Gestro, urologist etc. Doctors are suspecting inflamed appendicitis or intestines. But not diagnosed correctly. have taken antibiotics and medicine for stomach disorders. Some relief but pain is still there. How to diagnose ? more
It seems you have already consulted all specialists. The inflamed appendicities can be diagnosed by ultrasound. Please consult a gastro specialist again if the pain is persisting. more
Bloating frequently. Advise more
There is a medicine called Cinchona in homeopathy which can give instant relief from bloating of abdomen with a foot-ball like feeling. You can try this or consult a Homeopathic doctor. more
Useful information; thanks. May I seek some additional information? For last some years, when I bend down more than a little, I get sharp pain on the right side of my upper abdomen, just under the ribcage. I got it checked with ultrasound, and I was given all well message. What could it be? Just muscular, or it could be something else and worrisome? Or I should go for a repeat ultrasound test or a second opinion? Thank you. more
it seems to be just muscular since ultra sound is OK and the pain is only while bending as stated by you. But better to get second opinion as well more
Good information. Please download www.artofselfhealing.in that gives the method of self-treatment. more
