RO systems biggest waste of water
If you pass 4 litres of water through an RO purifier, it would produce only 1 litre of potable water. Why is this wastage not talked about ? The only way out is to improve the water supply infra & for that Govt has to re-set its priorities. The sad reality is that no one cares. Not even BIS, not even water ministry more

Too much Filtering will weaken our Immunity System. Water should be reasonably Filtered thru normal Filters. You will loose many an important Minerals/Salts, which are necessary for normal growth. more

jal jeevan mission is more concentrating on providing water to villages and also water rivers for transportation.But still in the cities of india this is yet to be taken forward in a big way and lot of things can be done to conserve water with public participation and civic authorities. more

Government should ban Water Purifiers using RO system. RO technology is used for converting Sea water in to potable water. Water purifiers using a Filter Candle and UV lamp provide drinking water of good quality without any wastage of water. more

Miss Jain, have you not heard of the Jal Jeevan Mission of the Central Government? It is because the top leadership of the country cares, this is happening. Your statement that nobody cares including water ministry is NOT correct at all. In the meantime, let all of us in the local circles, create aawareness about the wastage of water during RO process. We can simply boil and use the water. We have always done this in our house for the last 100 years. more

When there are no other options at present to provide potable water, RO is the only solution. Having said that, the state governments should pay priority for potable water and other basic amenities instead of splurging funds on beautifying and other areas for getting kickbacks from contractors more
