Roads in Hyderabad
The Government / GHMC has neglected the roads and has never bothered to redo them. Road laying technology has improved whereas what has been practiced is very old methodology which is not long lasting. First of all they should put all the overhead power cables and internet / telephone cables underground, improve the underground drainage system , and finally lay a proper permanent road which should not be dug periodically. just see how Church Street in Banglore has been developed (https://youtu.be/B_wlD3-z9x4). Hope the Government will address this , besides building bridges like the one near Durgam Cherevu. more

It should be on scientific lines ( road laying ) after survey of height and depth and curves ,alignments , old road should be scraped off to get the original level as it is seen that they are just recarpetting the same area increasing the height . After a few years the house , shops abutting the old are found to be at a lower level than the road and during rains water flows in to houses and shops . Storm drains are defunct and many raised areas are in the axis , as they cannot remove old cable conduits , pipe conduits laid originally . Such unscientific shoddy roads even does not last one season. Municipalities must not build roads and maintain them. They have out lived the purpose of civic amenities . They are made to build double bed room houses , hospitals basti dawakhanas , toilets but not real civic needs ! Prioritisation is lacking in spending tax payers money . The suggestion is good that the repair and redoing of all roads--not merely the highways--should be inspected by a Committee of five members including academicians and journalists, one for each locality. Such work should be free from corruption. more

Roads should be free from religious structures and user friendly. There need to be subways on the lines Chennai and FOBs for pedestrians for crossing roads. more

Then vote for a new municipal administration - GHMC. Give someone else a chance to see if they will do better. Long time away ( 3 years) to vote for a new government. But when we do get the chance, we should take Unfortunately people of Telangana went by sentiment and emotion to vote for TRS again, even after 5 years of failure. Hope we do not repeat the mistake, but the chances are high that we will. Poor and the uneducated are the ones who are taken for a ride here. The educated are too busy otherwise. more
