CONCERNED AUTHORITIES First mend and provide safe driving environments for two /four wheelers ,pedestrians,handicaps,cycle lanes wherever needed and maintain road traffic all weather worthy status, roads quality worsens and no pavements plus potholes surface even in the first year of carpeting.No municipality engr has ever been punished for poor quality of roads.Policy makers first obtain peoples'mandate as users of the roads before imposing the penalty for the common persons. ensure no roadblocks for the VIPs. more

As there are fines for traffic violations, there should be fines to the authorities including the political leaders for depriving common man of good quality of roads. more

Very very apt posting. Roads in Ahmedabad are in such a bad shape that many accidents occur just because of that. We give road tax in advance when we buy the vehicle, so we expect that the tax amount is used to give us a better travel conditions. Unfortunately everytime it is the common man who is penalized. Following traffic rules is must , I agree but I do not agree to forcing people for helmets. more

Very apt posting. It is wrong to first demand to obey traffic rules and then mend the road-services to deserve road taxes, penalties, etc. In fact road taxes and services are in accommodation of perfect road conditions. more

Hari Mohan Kulshrestha went to UK and suddenly emerged as law abiding "gentleman citizen" and remembered the pathetic conditions of traffic, roads in India. The rules are made to be broken so the municipal engineers or the contractors and workers do the same. They have already demanded better wages,better equipment, better monitoring,better maintenance which they themselves raised.The contractors who build the road, the engineers who plan and decide the alignment of the road, constructing "speed breakers" have already been paid by the interested parties for their own gain. 99.90% Indians are corrupt and balance have no opportunities. Proff: must do a research comparing traffic violation penalties in "developed" and "developing" and under developed countries.
