Role of TTEs

Issues with the TTEs
1. They do not ask ticket to each and every passenger most of the times.
2. If the passneger is travelling with improper ticket, instead of charging the difference, they are interested in filling their own pockets (bribe).
3. For short route trains, TTEs do not even visit the boggies.

Dear Bhooma Mam and Ramanathan Sir: I respect your comments and thank you for your immediate response especially to Bhooma Mam. Crisis gives rise to wants. If we need a change it cannot be implemented immediately. But, atleast some sincere efforts can be given especially by Railways to control these people and their employees. Hope you understood my view points. Good Morning and have a nice day. Regards, Dr.Sriram 08334906005 more
Your concerns are genuine Doctor. Just wanted to tell that there can't be a nexus between them and TTE. That's all. But these vendors, beggars, eunuchs are a real problem only. more
TTE's alone are not to be blamed. It is the mentality of the people should be changed. There is law that commuters and general ticket passengers are not permitted to travel in the reserved coaches. Even wail listed passengers are not permitted to travel. Then why you brake ruled approach TTE for a berth. It is we commit and blame others when not favorable for us. more
Dear Bhooma Madam: If needed lot of things can be discussed, but, coming to a point which is practical and implementing it only would solve problems. Our intention is not to rob the earning of the vendors, but, to control the unnecessary elements such as beggars, enuch and other anti social elements who take advantage of the confusion created by vendors dumping their wares near the toilets. During the night also you can find persons sleeping near the bathrooms may be they are genuine but who knows. This robs the peaceful sleep of the passengers who literally has to stay awake fearing that his luggage would be robbed. Vendors who are selling their wares should have proper licence and identity cards with them and should be registered with the Railway Authorities. After all he is making money from the passengers, in case he misbehaves they can be identified and a complaint can be registered with Railways. The unwanted crowd and vendors who travel long distances use up the water in the bathroom and when we need it water is not there. Taking all these into considerations me and Mr.Rajesh Singh put our views. Long distance passengers suffer the most. Regards, Dr.Sriram Kolkata more
Yes Dr.Sriram and Mr.Rajesh Singh. But I beg to differ on one issue. May be we have to take action on the vendors but the sharing of revenue part is not viable. It is not big money involved. After all they are very petty sellers and actually there are no organized employment in innumerable villages along the rail tracks. Maybe we should think of PPP models of serving food to passengers--because nnot all passengers too might not be ready to pay hefty sums from their pockets if we say food shall be served by up scale hoteliers only. I see these vendors as uneducated, rustic, jobless yet entrepreneurial and spirited. They are my fellow Indians and they cant be lost by way of beautification. Same way, we cant afford to have this shoddy system going on for ever. Change should be rapid, firm, and inclusive as well! more
