Role spiritual and religious leaders can play in Swachh Bharat

.Spiritual leaders can inspire their disciples to virtues of keeping environment clean
.They must preach putting an end to open defecation in all of their public addresses in areas where Open Defecation is common
.If they are associated with a temple, they must ensure there is a clean well maintained toilet and a few dustbins available
.They can promote the practice of cleaning the surroundings as penance along with donations and festivities
.They can act as supervisors for keeping the area around them clean and inspire their followers
.They should make sure that the pooja saamagri from their havans is not thrown into the rivers and other water bodies 7.They should ensure that the devotees throw the garbage only in dustbins while they are at their events
.They should instruct all the vendors around their temples/residence to keep large dustbins outside their shops
