RWA

There are some RWAs that have assumed Police authorities like allotting places within the area to selected or favoured persons to conduct business .... Some have banned people from earning livelihoods in areas owned, managed by Municipal bodies . This dual and illegal authorities are serious in laws and suppression of basic rights that have to be looked into. These are violations under the Human Rights as well as Constitutional framework.

The RWA should be confined to general well being, cultural aspect and act as Coordinators between residents and municipal authorities. Their role as Law Enforcers is a serious attempt to demean other Govt agencies meant for this and most times it tend to be exploitative even. more

Himanshu Bose ji, you can approach to the Area Welfare Officer for holding the election. It is very bad for the RWA for not conducting elections and thus it is also one type of corruption. more
The RWA at our colony was elected in the year 2008 , for a period of two years , which expired on 2010 , but the President and General Secretary have never called for a Election after that and they are not doing any work either . They are using it for their personal benefits. Is it not the duty of Bhagidari Cell or Delhi Govt to look into this. Action should be taken against the office bearers where Election is not held after the stipulated time . more
Many RWA allow encroachment on footpath which is serious violation and create nuisance for others. Take an example of Nanakpura where MCD cleared all encroachments, during 2010-11, but now encroachment is increasing in many folds with the concense of RWA and local ex MLA. There encroachment on the foot path on road for Nanakpura near Nanakpura Gurudwara. more
Thnaks Mr Bhupinder Kr Jassal. @Mr Rohit Dalmia - If Managing Committee members of a RWA is corrupt, as a general member you have the right to see audited copy of last year FY2013-2014 financials. Also put a written request about corruption to the President of RWA. If you have a 67% members with you, you can demand for dissolution of the existing body and call for election. Otherwise if you have proof of corruption, you can approach Registrar of Societies for intervention. But 67% is not a easy task. Make a small team, and visit every Member's residence with proof of corruption and ask for support. more
Mr Udayan G.Ccomments on Mr Vinod is liked by our RWA.The encrochment on foot path/Road side is due to ignorence by local residents, extending help to unlawfull activity.by not stopping their illegal encrochment.further to this police and civic body will never stop them, instead passed away with oily palm.RWA SHOULD TAKE ACTION FOR ALL ILLEGAL ACTIVITY IN THEIR RESPECTIVE AREA. more
