Safety of the passengers in Railways these days....
My expectations from the present government is very high but recent incidents of robbery in the train including robbing the finance minister of Chattisgarh by local goons and GRP's incapability to stop the crime has put a big question mark on the safety of the lakhs of common people travelling everyday.
Hope the Railways senior management is taking the matter seriously and make the GRP's equipped enough to fight out the robbers instead of running away, keeping the fate of the helpless passengers in the hands of the robbers..... more

Looking at some of the comments it seems Small stations are still like the ones in old western films, and we are talking about bullet trains and flying chariots. Get real! more

In the stations, where there are name boards of the stations, lighting is not there. Where there are lights, name boards of station are not displayed. This makes it difficult for the passengers, travelling in the night if they need to get down in the nights or early mornings. This should be rectified. Display of boards where the coaches are likely to come, should be operational. Many stations these boards are not working, which makes the hapless passengers run from left to right and right to left on the platforms in search of their coaches. It is equally important that the train stops exactly @ the places marked for each coach. For older people or passengers with small children, this becomes very difficult. more

Suhas Sapre I would like to inform you that recently, railways have stopped booking of season ticket by credit card. If you want to book season ticket, you can book the same by debit card or netbanking that too you should have account with these banks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, Union Bank of India etc. I experienced this when I wanted to book season ticket for my wife. The same problem will be faced by me when I have to book season ticket for myself. I had a talk with customer care executive of IRCTC, they informed me that railways have stopped this. I was asked to write to them as unless & until requests from the customers are not received by railways, they will not take any action. If this is the case while booking season ticket by credit card then while booking of long journey ticket also will not be booked through credit card, I suppose. I will come to know when I will approach for the same whenever required. Can anybody informs railways to start this facility of booking season ticket by credit card? more
