In railway coaches, you see it painted that 'harassing of women passengers is a criminal offence'. Does it imply that harassment of men passengers is legally acceptable? Personally, I feel that it is far more likely that a woman seeking help gets it than a male passenger. Of course, Sonal is right that women passengers traveling alone do face problems. This is more likely in Ladies' coaches than in General coaches. Ladies should certainly avoid travelling alone in First class coaches since you get locked up in a room with three strangers. A sister of a friend of mine had been murdered in a first class coach for the money and gold she was carrying. (It was long back when Netravati Express was running with the number 6636/6635 between Mangalore and Kurla via SRR,KJP. STILL THE LOGIC IS VALID EVEN TODAY. more
