Below are the key issues outlined by you on Road Safety in Delhi.

Road Safety in Delhi - Key Issues
1. Vehicles over speed on road
2. Drivers drive rash and change lanes inappropriately
3. HMVs and LMVs don’t use the lanes meant for them
4. Vehicles drive on high beam at nights
5. Drunken driving is very common
6. People do not follow traffic signals
7. Parking is done on roads in haphazard manner
8. Lack of foot-over-bridges and subways for the pedestrians to cross the roads
9. Road space is used by vendors leading to traffic snarls
10. Busses do not stop at the dedicated stop points
11. Bikers ride without helmets
12. Pressure horns are openly used
13. Unfit commercial vehicles ply on the roads
14. Inadequate lighting on the streets
15. Lack of footpaths
16. Hand rickshaw/e-rickshaw drivers create a ruckus on the road
17. Drivers do not respect the pedestrians on the zebra crossing more

another most important is NON USE OF LIGHTS BY E RICKSAWS; and no reflectors on any type of vehicle. When we were kids, even cycles used to have reflectors on front and back, and now no one has , though very cheap versions of reflectors are available more

just clean streets and roads of vendors, who are first source of creation of black money in this country, and ensure that commercial vehicles, i.e e richsaws and loading magics or loading three wheelers drive in left land and delhi will be safe and smooth. more

Erratic driving by gramin sewa drivers, two wheelers specially mobike users is a serious issue which demands strict enforcement of traffic rules. During rush hours, to ensure smooth traffic flow, traffic constable shd be at major intersections to control effectively the traffic lights and the inflow & outflow. more

People not only jump the traffic signals but also they did not follow the traffic rules most of them are Autorickshaws, rickshaws, e-rickshaws, Bikers, Cars, Gramin Sewa, Three & four Wheelers of commercial type. Footpaths and even service roads are occupied by vendors due to that pedestrains have no option to walk on road and got accident with injury or death. It is a very big issue in a Capital of country and for this not only Admn. but also public must come forward to follow the rules and make a better policy for road safety/public safety applying better coordination. more
