Salutes to the Judiciary
We keep talking about corruption in the judiciary but last week and again yesterday the judiciary has made us proud.
Last week's right to privacy case and today's Ram Rahim Sentence were great verdicts. I am glad about the independence of our judiciary.
May be we should talk about how the working of the judiciary can be made efficient but surely they know what they are doing. more

There should be criteria for appeals against verdicts. Each case has to be first heard within 6 months of filing a FIR. Depending on the sensitivity of the case the formalities must be completed within stipulated time between 2 to 5 years. If there is wanton delay by either of the parties, the responsible ones should be booked for contempt of court and punished immediately. Unless the judiciary take their role seriously, the number of cases would be piling up. more

Reforms in judicial administration are as much important as in the other two, legislative and executive, pillars of our constitution. Justice delayed is justice denied. Unjust society will perish sooner than later. Unfortunately our parliamentary system is abrogating to itself absolute supremacy without hindrance of checks and balances. more

Yes, judiciary is by and large impartial. The problem is the time and duration of cases. They are pended for too long and that is manipulated by unscrupulous lawyers and wrong doers. more

Justice delivery system is very bad.The same judgement could have been given within 3 years from the date of registration of FIR/case ., looking at the intensity/seriousness of crime. more

As long as politicians have vested interest in avoiding the justice system, they will not allow judicial reforms, and that is also OK with the judicial administration, which is also not wanting to be accountable to the public. This is catch 22 for the common man. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Then revolution, violent or sometimes nonviolent, will be the only answer!! more
