Sanskrit should be taught in Schools as MUST...

Hi, With reference from todays (14/11/2014) newspaper The Hindu, sanskrit should be taught in school as 3rd langauge. Now-a-days the trend is changing. Indian students will not learn Hindi in future if the current situation is going so. Sanskrit is a language a head of Hindi. Indians should have the knowledge of sanskrit atleast to a basic level. Kendriya Vidyalaya schools should consider this as a wanted subject for maintaining our tradition and culture. As how Indians should not forget Devanagiri lipi, sanskrit should be considered the same way. So Sanskrit should not be eliminated. Pls respond... more

I travelled all over world and acheived lot including first payroll in Hindi in 80's itself. I learned hindi through hindi prachara sabha which is no use until now.. I learned all the 4 southern languages, bangali and even odesa when i travelled through the terrorritary. According to my view, it is big mistake to disintegrate our nation with hindi issue and focus on development which countries including america with multilinigual cuture, france, china and european nations. It is wasting our young creative mind with memorzing language skills which can be focused on Science, maths and literature. It is also better to learn thorugh their mother tough to improve the creative skill.. more
Hindi is our national language. So, till we go ahead and change that in our system, its every body's responsibility to learn basic hindi just like Mr. Alwar has learned English - I would say out of necessity. But about Sanskrit, I think India, before the Mughals took over..had far more intelligent people than what we have today and therefore, Sanskrit which was a common language in the ancient times may be of some interest for everyone. There is a clear relationship between the language people speak and how civilized they are (http://www.lexiophiles.com/uncategorized/the-relationship-between-language-and-culture) - so why not study a language which has been regarded as superior in syntax and grammar and can be used even in modern days : http://www.aaai.org/ojs/index.php/aimagazine/article/view/466 . No offence to anyone. more
Why any non-hindi person should learn Sanskrit or hindi.. Language is state subject ..Center have no role in language??!! more
