SBI Online 15H Submission

Recently I had come across a post of gentlemen informing that discontinuation of online submission of 15G/H by SBI.
Yesterday I had been to my branch to submit physical form. It was accepted.

I was informed that SBI has reintroduced the online facility. It can be found under e-Fixed deposit-Generate 15G/H.
Before posting I verified and found it truthful.

The desk officer also informed that if you are taking your interest monthly/quarterly, one must submit 15G/H two days before due date. This as per ITD directive. Any body can throw light on this aspect? more

Yes Mr. Ajit Ronad it is correct. As I responded to Mr. Subrata Ghoshal's query I found not only SBI but private banks too were temporarily withholding online submission or in some cases physical submission of Form 15G/H specially Form 15G. There was a strong rumor in banking circles that a major modification is coming in the rules of Form 15G/H. After the new forms were released by IT Department the banks first started taking in physical format, then made necessary re-modification in net-banking websites to facilitate online submission from beginning of this week approximately. Also it seems they are more meticulous in scrutinizing Form 15G that Form 15H since as I said in my earlier postings whether they officially agree or not, TDS is a form of Advance Tax and Senior Citizens not having any business income are exempt from paying Advance Tax. They know it very well. Personally I feel Form 15H should have another declaration to make it more loop hole free - stating whether the person has any business income, if yes, estimated value of that income for the FY for which the form is being submitted must be declared. more
