School Fee increases

Can LocalCircles please take up the issues of rising school fees.

Some of us are experiencing fee increases of over 20%.

At a time when inflation is 15% on basic essentials like oil vegetables, grains, detergent, how can we all afford to pay 20% increase in school fee.

What are you all doing? more

School Fees increase is a neccestiy, as there is annual increase in cost of operating a school, as manpower is the only asset, and to keep teachers motivated, they need to be compensated, as they also have a life to live more
Though I am not affected as I don't have school going children but would like to inform that education is a state subject and it's jurisdictions remain with respective states other than the central schools. It would be appropriate if aggrieved parents can take on the issue with state Govt. more
If school fee is increased for the benefit of the teachers, then we should not grudge the increase of fees. more
Exception are always there in masses. Teachers actually don't get anything. more
Education in Govt. Educational institutions is highly subsidized or free. Uniforms, books are distributed free. Many students are also given cash allowance. Mid day meal is an additional attraction. As such, Govt should extend some support to private schools also so that they are not forced to increase fees every year. They have to give increments also to staff every year. Their staff do not get DA, unlimited medical reimbursement, LTA, assured annual increments and handsome pension + DA. We should not forget that private schools are rendering much better service in the field of education. more
There are two problem areas which successive governments have failed to act on. One is Education and the other is Healthcare; both should be allotted the PSU status. Then alone the poor and the average citizens would truly benefit. May I request the Local Circles to conduct an opinion poll on this important subject please... more
