The recent Punjab HC order, vindicating the stand of parents, has waived 30% of Tuition fee. Though more was expected, this still is a reprieve for parents and is suitably justified. The school experience for kids has never been the same in the virtual mode. The schools were never justified in demanding the same fee with students sitting at home and deprived of the one BASIC skill for which they are sent to school - Social skills. I would thank all who stood for the petition and commented favourably to the post. B/Rgds. more
The private schools are to charge only tution fee if they are providing online lessons more
Did the school management forced you to put the children in their school? Why don't you put your children in govt. Schools. Their will no fee and govt teachers are all MA Bed qualified. Their is no point arguing. The Pvt unaided schools are run on the fee paid by the students. They can on pay salaries to the staff once they receive the fee. Where as govt pays for everything in govt schools. CHANGE THE SCHOOL.PUT THEM IN GOVT. SCHOOL OR GOVT. AIDED SCHOOL. EVERY PROBLEM HAS A SOLUTION more
Noted, however, expected some maturity in your answer. There was an order issued by the Punjab Government, and it was meant to be abided. My question is not as regards my capacity to pay but the defiance of the orders of the state. Anyways, I did expect answers on similar lines. No ill -feeling though.

Thanks. more
Thanks, Virenderji. Sure this link was quite helpful. more
The schools are not justified in asking for the fee during the lockdown because the government has said so. But there's one point to be noted. The private schools are dependent on the fee for payment of salaries to their staff. With no fee, how will schools manage salaries and other expenses? In any case, if parents of any student are unable to pay the school fee during these tough times, then schools should set up a mechanism wherein parents can put up a request for late payment and schools should consider such requests without imposing any fine. In these times, it is the moral responsibility of schools as well as parents to help each other. But, with God's grace, those who are not facing any financial issues should pay the fee. Disclaimer: I am in no way associated to the school mentioned in the original message by Mr. Amit. more
Noted. However, is anybody overseeing the time, quality and content being provided in online mode. Time is only 2 hrs a day in lieu of 5 hrs of physical class. All sections are combined. Student -teacher ratio is 100:1.
You'd need to see the chaos on Zoom when the class is unmuted. Best for teachers to mute all and finish the thing off. Who cares!

I think the school is following online mode in response to the recent order of the Punjab govt. to qualify for a claim of fee. more
