Security Guarding Service Standards
Can local circles and bureau of indian standards please make standards for security guard companies. please do a bottoms up exercise.
i feel problem with indian standards is that the govt is not that knowledgeable about issues of a sector so they always just rely on industry. Industry experts instead of going at the root of a need of a safe efficient product propose and demand standards according to the product they are having.
it cannot be done this way going forward. If so better to shut bis and have a body like asci for standards. which will mean that businesses can do whatever they want. more

In India Security Guard are not properly educated and trained.Raw personnel from U P and Bihar will land in to big cities and will do security work.This needs skill development and proper training and should be able to deal with any eventuality.Probably this area is not being given its due importance. more

Yes, it is an area where the sole loosers are the personnel employed as guards. The prime employer wants more profit and the secondary employer wants to spend less. Both flout the regulations. If you want better standards, then the payments have to match. Properly trained and young persons would require standard compensation including the statutory benefits. But then who wants to comply with all these? more
